Donate an Artifact
Our collection of historic artifacts has been established through donations made by generous people like you and we appreciate your interest in preserving Colorado aviation history.
As our Society name implies, we focus on items that represent “Colorado” “Aviation” “History”. We carefully review each item to ensure that it meets all three criteria.
Donation Procedure:
If you have artifacts or documents that you believe would complement our collection, please fill out the the donation form on this page or download, print and fill out this Artifact Donation form.
ARTIFACT DONATION FORM »If you chose to print the form, it can be mailed to COLORADO AVIATION HISTORICAL SOCIETY AT: PO Box 201615, Denver, CO 80220 or email to: coloradoahs.org@gmail.com. Selecting the submit button at the end of the form automatically sends it to the Society’s email.
Due to the volume of offers we receive each year and our limited capacity to catalog, store and display items, we ask that you contact us before sending your donation and provide information that will help the Collections staff make a well-informed decision by carefully filling out the attached Artifact Donation form.
When your Artifact Donation form is received by the Society, the staff will carefully consider your offer and research our existing collection. The offer will then go before the Board of Directors for final recommendation. This process may take a few weeks.
If your items fit within our parameters, we will contact you and coordinate receipt of your donation. Should we determine that the Colorado Aviation Historical Society is not an appropriate repository for your item, we will do our best to use any additional information you provide to help you find the right museum or institution to ensure the long-term care and appreciation of your donation.
The Society will care for your donation thru the life of the society, so it is important that we ensure that we are the best new home for your items.
PLEASE NOTE: The Colorado Aviation Historical Society cannot accept unsolicited donations through the mail or in person without prior acknowledgement and approval by a Colorado Aviation Historical Society authorized member. The Museum reserves the right to dispose of unsolicited items. The Colorado Aviation Historical Society is unable to answer queries regarding the authentication and appraisal of artifacts.
