Gary Tobey will be hosting a presentation at the Exploration of Flight on the “Civil Air Patrol”. Col. Gary Tobey, is the Former Colorado Wing Commander and also a CAHS Director and will present the history of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) and its current missions.
Beginning as an auxiliary of civilian pilots and aircraft to the Army Air Forces in World War II, the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) has grown to now include 555 aircraft and over 56,000 volunteers.
CAP has repeatedly proven to be a powerful, professional, volunteer force-multiplier for the Air Force, government agencies, states, and communities, supporting emergency responses, flying blood and vaccines to disaster sites, and conducting youth and educational programs.
