Major General Jerome “Jerry” Limoge

Jerry began flying with the Civil Air Patrol in 1972. He joined the Air Force, serving as an enlisted avionics technician. He continued his pilot training, attaining Private, Commercial, and Certified Flight Instructor at age 19. When Jerry was transferred to Eglin, AFB in Florida, he received a multi-engine rating and became an instructor with the base’s aero club.

After his enlistment ended, Jerry attended medical school at the University of South Carolina. He maintained his flying at this time and joined the Army Reserve. His residency was completed at Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center in Aurora. His duty stations were Ft. Eustis, Virginia and Ft. Carson, Colorado. After an inter-service transfer to the Air Force, he was assigned Peterson AFB and later deployed to Turkey as Commander of an Expeditionary Medical Operation. Jerry graduated from the Flight Surgeons course and received his certificate for FAA Medical Examiner in 1996. He affiliated with the Colorado Air National Guard in 2004 as State Air Surgeon and Joint Forces Surgeon for Colorado.

After promotion to Brigadier General in 2012, he was assigned as the Air National Guard assistant to the Command Surgeon, Air Mobility Command. After that posting, he returned to Colorado as the Assistant Adjutant General-Air and Commander of the Colorado Air National Guard-the first physician to hold this position.

As a Senior FAA Aviation Medical Examiner, with his practice in Colorado Springs, he has given over 20,000 FAA exams, gaining a national reputation. Gen Limoge was associated with the National Championship Air Races since 1996 and has served as the chief judge for 8 years.

General Limoge has contributed to many volunteer organizations in Colorado, including EAA, Youth with a Mission, U.S. Air Force Cadet Sponsorship, and Boy Scouts.
